Comparison - Is it a good thing?

Do you think comparison is a good thing?

If you are comparing quality or taste maybe.

Comparing yourself to someone else - I don't think so.

Being a creative person and in a creative industry...we can at times fall victim to comparing ourselves to others.

Here's the thing - we are all unique in our own way.

Comparison leads to competition.  Competition between people and business.  I think competition can be a good thing...it keeps you on your game.

But here's the deal...if you love what you do:

keep doing it

keep improving

keep challenging yourself

Because at the end of the day...you need to love yourself, your family and you need to have joy!  If you are constantly comparing...constantly looking over the fence and comparing yourself to the other person or business...you aren't going to go anywhere.
